One of the oldest establishment for legit shabu-shabu in Jakarta. When writing for this review however I went to the Teppanyaki area of the restaurant. The server was confused when I asked for shabu-shabu in the teppanyaki seatings but another server took over and served the shabu anyway. Nevertheless, good servic overall. They also presented one of the diners with a complimentary birthday cake (it was a birthday lunch when I came).The food wasnt mindblowing but it was good and comfortable. You wont see ben*hana shenaningas or fancy presentations but what you get is classic teppanyaki course that you’re familiar with made with fresh ingredients. The shabu was also very good and affordable.Overall, a great visit

Before I write this review, i’d like to have a disclaimer i’m not a food critique and I am NOT a picky eater in no wayOk so this is the description of the food in the menu: “kagoshima wagyu A5 striploin katsu sandwich” priced at IDR1.9M ~ USD 170. So naturallyyyyyyyy I was expecting a magical beef from a cow who has been massaged in Japan near a magical cave. Long story short, it felt like SAMGYEOPSAL in a KOREAN BBQ CHAIN 🤦🏻‍♀️Anyway. The sandiwich itself s*cks. The katsu is too greasy so at first couldnt even taste the beef at all. Second picture is me attempting to “deconstruct” the sandwich by peeling of the Katsu. Again the now naked beef only tasted like Samgyeopsal 😂I only ate two pieces and felt so sick cause of my suddent spike of oil consumption The positive thing is I feel instantly full and when I complain to the waiter, he listened and told us this menu was new and he’d suggest the chef to reevaluate it. I DEMAND FREE SANDWICH WHEN YOU FIX THE BEEF😝Anyway bottom line, not worth the money, use the money to go to Bali instead. Donate it. Whatever. Dont buy

one of the most known and old shabu-shabu restaurant in town. used to go here before God blesses us with shabu-shabu and yakiniku chains in every mall in Jkt. yg serunya makan shabu2 pake peyek, sampe di rumah jd ngikutin beli peyek setia mau bikin shabu2 dirumah

My favorite shabu shabu place in Jakarta since I was little. They have several meat options that you can choose from. Sometimes I go with salmon when I dont feel like eating beef. Their rempeyek is so good too! My favorite rempeyek ever. Must try!

The worst dining experience ever! My family have been a patron of this restaurant since the '80s. During our Christmas Eve Dinner almost a week ago for a party of 13 pax, we were asked to share with another person the bowl of sashimi even though we had ordered the Shabu - Shabu Set Menu whereby each person is supposed to be served individually. I asked the waitress why the sashimi was served in such a way and she said it was instructed by the chef. I strongly asked her to take it back to the kitchen to rectify the mistake. Did they not have enough bowls???! When the individual sashimi bowls finally arrived after some appetizers later, in one of the bowls the salmon had been shredded to pieces. Unfortunately our disappointment didn't stop there..! One tiny toon oyster was served as part of the appetizer course, but only 12 plates came out when it sld've been 13. Do you not know how to count, Chef? Do you know how long I had to wait for that 1 oyster? More than 20 minutes!!!If I may make a suggestion, Khayangan, if you're not prepared to serve set menus.... then DON'T!! The restaurant wasn't even crowded by any standard. And.... Please go to weddings to learn how to professionally serve set dinner menus; not half of the table are having appetizer A while the other half are having appetizer B simply because you guys aren't ready!

Restaurant ini awet juga dan bertahan lama. Dulu terakhir makan mungkin 8 tahun lalu. Shabu2 nya rasanya oke seingat saya.Beberapa waktu lalu makan lagi disini dengan menu bbq. Ternyata kurang berkesan seperti dulu.Jadi kalau mampir sini lagi lebih baik makan shabu2nya saja.

I visit here with my family for lunch and have been visiting occasionally since i was a kid as this place is famous since my mom and dad was younger. There were 5 of us and we ordered 1 Teppanyaki Set for 2 (Wagyu Striploin), 1 Teppanyaki Deluxe Set for 2 (US Striploin), and a US Striploin ala carte also 1 sushi roll for me (forgot the name). The chef was very polite and entertaining (he deliberately show some tricks for me and my siblings to record😁). The food has always been amazing here for me personally, for starters we were given appetizers and salad, it was good but the champion for me has always been the beefs and seafoods (scallop and lobster). Before the fried rice is served we were also given the orange sorbet which is very refreshing. The fried rice is also very good and we finish the meal course with banana flambee as dessert👍👍. Always a good experience here, the food is top quality and the ambience is relaxing as its private and has a great thamrin view😁😁. Will always come back here.
