Went here for lunch with colleagues. The restaurant was quite modest but cozy and clean, there were calligraphy of Arabic words on the walls. The wait staff was quite friendly and helpful. The owner was friendly and greeted us with Assalamualaikum. We ordered the lamb skewer, rosted/grilled lamb, lamb fried rice, beef noodles, lamb curry, and garlic pokchoi. I must say, the lamb skewers and rosted/grilled lamb was exquisite, excellent, tender, and juicy. The spices on the lamb was really good, truly the highlight of the meal. I recommend these dishes! Now for the fried rice, I thought it was good but not as great as the previous 2 dishes. The pieces of lamb were quite big and tender. The noodles were also good but not great, hence I don't think I will be ordering them again. The curry, was different from the kind I was used to at Arabic, Indian, Pakistani, or even Indonesian restaurants. The meat was tender but the sauce/gravy was too watery and tomato-y, also it was a bit sour for me. The garlic pokchoi was good with the right amount of flavour. I would order it again. I would go here again for the grilled stuff, it was really good. I would certainly give a 5.0 rating for the grilled/rosted lamb and lamb skewers!

"Great Chinese Muslim Food"A friend of mine has been recommending this restaurant for awhile, so yesterday we tried it together. Since the owners are from China, I was certain that they have baijiu (Chinese spirit), and sure enough there were several brands to choose from. We got a bottle and then ordered some beers. Food was excellent and the flavors were definitely peppery Xinjiang style. Service was very good and the owners were friendly.

Sulaiman resto caters muslim chinese food. No pork, but lots of lamb. They use a very generous amount of spices, including mala, hot spice that can numb your tongue when bitten. The lamb satay and lamb ribs are very tender and aromatic, very recommended. If we want rice alternative, we can eat the roti gepeng, a bit like prata bread, and dip it with clear soup or even kari soup.

Located at batu ceper road. Unexpected that this is a halal moeslem chinese resto. Owned by chinese couple (fluently speak mandarin), thought for quite sometime too.Nothing great at the interior resto or furniture. Really basic resto but foods are unique. We tried sate kambing, akar teratai and kung pow chicken. Sate kambing also have different style of serving. Count by stick and not portion. So you order how many stick you want. Very tasty and meat is tender. First timw rat akar teratai. Crunchy veges, and portion is quite big. Can eat for 3-4 persons. Lastly chicken kung paw also quite big portion, tasty and cook with timun and carrot. Another style of kung paw which normally with paprika. Recommended and value of money

Makan siang di restoran ini sungguh menyenangkan. Sajian masakan china yang otentik disajikan secara halal. Porsi makanannya pun besar. Saya suka mi tomat ini. Segar dan enak dimakan di siang hari.

Saya sudah langganan resto ini sejak 2 tahun lalu. Semenjak di menteng. Bagi yg suka shao kao, chinese food atau chinese bbq, harus mencoba kesini.. menu andalan daging kambing. Tapi untuk sayuran nya tdk kalah enak dan orisinil. Ada mapo tofu, tomat cah telur dan yg paling berkesan terong panggang nya. Untuk harga mungkin sedikit expensive tetapi sesuai dng rasa... Begitu dl y.. keep eat and delicious.

Stated as a Chinese Muslim restaurant, it sure is  100% halal in every dish that they made. We decided to order Tahu Mapo, Mie Daging Sapi Kentang, Nasi Daging Kambing Bawang, Ayam Kong Pao, Roti Bakar Gepeng and their famous Sate Kambing. Too much? Luckily all of my fellow foodies were really really love to eat. So we don't mind ordering that much food. We will finish them anyway.The Ayam Kong Pao was different than other chinese restaurant kung pao chicken. While the other kung pao chicken was savory and a little sour, this one was more sweet and tangy in good way. I'm not a huge fan of this dish but this one still good and yumm to the last lick. As for the Mie Daging Sapi Kentang, there were nothing special about it. But still lovely and the beef was juicy too.I gotta say the Tahu Mapo and Roti Bakar Gepeng was match made in heaven. I love to dip the bread into the mapo sauce and eat it along that way. Somehow it's perfect and I can't stop eating it. Although when I was trying to eat the bread all alone, it taste weird since it has no seasoning at all. It was just a pressed plain bread being grilled. Nothing more. On the other hand the Tahu Mapo itself was delicious. The tofu was silky and smooth while the sauce has the perfect level of thickness. Oh my God! Just by imagining the dishes made me drool over my laptop (eww ... gross).Moving on to the Nasi Daging Kambing Bawang and Sate Kambing. It was sooooooo freakin' good, I almost cried when I ate it. The Nasi Daging Kambing Bawang has this sour tomato taste yet very refreshing. The Sate Kambing itself was different than other satay. The mutton was skewered through a metal stick and was heavily seasoned. Some might say it was too salty, but for me it works well just like that.I have this weird obsession thingy with mutton. Well who doesn't? Especially when the mutton was so juicy and yummy and tender and and and ....... (black out for imagining a mutton). All I can say is here in Sulaiman Resto, they really do serve the best mutton. It was juicy, tender, no disgusting lamb smell at all and most of all delicious all the way! Even though some parts was just the mutton fat but it doesn't really matter. The rest of the mutton was just too delicious to be complained about. You really really should try this Sulaiman Resto. Restoran chinese food yang menyajikan makanan halal sudah jamak di Jakarta. Tapi restoran chinese food dengan spesialisasi masakan suku muslim Uyghur dari provinsi Xinjiang, mungkin ini yang pertama dan satu-satunya di Jakarta, bahkan Indonesia.Saat memasuki restoran, seluruh pelayannya mengucapkan assalamualaikum, sekilas terasa seperti memasuki restoran yang menyajikan masakan timur tengah. Namun interior restoran kembali menegaskan bahwa restoran tersebut merupakan restoran chinese food muslim dengan menampilkan beberapa seni tulisan huruf tiongkok serta kaligrafi bergaya tiongkok yang menurut pemiliknya dibuat oleh seniman kaligrafi asli dari Xinjiang. Pemiliknya sendiri, Haji Sulaiman, merupakan warga asli Xinjiang yang bermigrasi ke Indonesia sejak 10 tahun yang lalu.Masakan yang disajikan di Sulaiman resto secara umum hampir sama seperti chinese food pada umumnya seperti variasi masakan nasi, mie, tumisan, dan panggangan. Namun yang khas di sini adalah masakan daging kambing yang tidak lazim dalam chinese food yang lebih umum menggunakan daging sapi/babi. Masakan daging kambingnya sedikit mirip dengan masakan ala timur tengah namun bumbu2 herbal khas tiongkok masih sangat terasa di sini.

Finally, xinjiang cuisine in jakarta! Hailing from the west/north reaches of china, the fare is very different from your local chinese restaurants. The spice set is quite unique and they use lamb instead of pork. If you like lamb, you have to try xinjiang style lamb. I would day its better than pork.The place when i visited was full of chinese speaking people... I'm the only one who dont speak chinese 😅 the menu was pretty straightforward though. Ordered the deep fried lamb ribs and some skewers, and it was GREAT! The portion is actually for sharing but i mopped almost half of it (total was 20pc?). The ribs were soft and juicy, and the skewers were soo tender and spicy (tho smaller than what i had in china). Give it a try. Its worth the trip!

Last Sunday, I was craving for Xinjiang Food so I did a research on "Xinjiang Restaurants in Jakarta". it was not a mistake for my churchmate and I to dine at this restaurant. We ordered delicious  these delicious  dishes : 妈波豆腐 (Mabo Doufu)，宫爆鸡( Kung Pao Chicken), 鸡肉串儿( Chicken Satay). I have to say this restaurant serve authentic Xinjiang Cuisine.We were pleased with the warmth greetings and services from the owner's friend . He was very helpful in helping us to place our orders.I highly recommend this restaurant to those who love herbs and spices.I will definetly come back with more friends  in future.
