Hi Foodies.Sushi is definitely one of my most favourite Japanese cuisines. As I would say, sushi is a small bite of heaven. Just to describe how much I am loving the dish.Some renowned sushi restaurants have already been in my visiting list. But one particular one hasn't. It offers affordable sushi with price tags that are easy on your pocket.This is my culinary diary at Sushi Miya8i.So this restaurant is owned by celebrities. Names like Thomas Nawilis, Dude Herlino, Christian Sugiono, Adi Nugroho, and a few more, are owners of this restaurant.I came here with a couple of friends. We decided to hang out together that day, and Sushi Miya8i was our choice of place to hang out.This restaurant has two dining area, the indoor and outdoor. The outdoor area is quite spacious, while the indoor is apparently not. The interior was simple. Only wooden tables and chairs. Bold red color is used on the wall. There are not too many decorations.Anyway, I've read quite a lot negative reviews about this restaurant. But again I should always remind you to always give it a try yourself to have a clear judgement and not basing it on someone else's review. So luckily I was helped by a dining voucher for all you can eat sushi at Sushi Miya8i.This review itself, I am going to write it honestly, based on my dining experience so I won't mislead you. I'm going to be completely honest to prevent any further disappoinment.The service was disappointing for my consideration. Sadly I have to say so. The waiters weren't standby on the indoor dining area. They only came to deliver orders, so it's pretty annoying that customers have to get up from their seat and call the waiter or having to wait until the waiter enters the indoor dining area. And I think they should smile more so customers could feel a friendly service.The service also wasn't fast. Supeeerrr sloooowwww!!! And the restaurant wasn't even crowded. It's really annoying!!! My friend had to wait for like half an hour just for a bowl of ramen. I have to wait like more than 20 minutes just for a plate of sushi. Pretty disappointing. And it seemed like the other customers that day felt quite the same.Well, let's start talking about the food.Why don't we start with what my friends ordered? BTW I apologize for the pale-colored pictures. The bold red color paint on the restaurant's wall really put an impact on my pics.First is the Okonomiyaki - Rp. 15.000.The Okonomiyaki here were presented sliced with carrots filling, topped with mayo, soy sauce (which I think is ponzu sauce) and shaved katsuobushi.Not much to say about the okonomiyaki. It's quite decent. The flavors were too mild for my palate, almost like bland. Luckily the soy sauce and the mayo helped quite a lot. Otherwise it would be nothing special.Deep Fried Cheese Roll - Rp. 20.000.For something that uses cheese (or I thought it would be) I couldn't barely felt it. What's good about it maybe the crispy layer outside. But besides that, there were nothing special. The rice wasn't sticky, no trace of vinegar. Really felt that they used regular rice instead of Japanese rice.Kuro Ramen - Rp. 35.000.At first, the waiter brought the wrong ramen. My friend wished for it to be replaced. And then he waited....for a friggin half an hour (I think it was more)!!! I mean, seriously, did it take that long just to boil ramen noodle and minced the beef??? By the way, those are the only ingredients on the bowl.The taste was just so-so. Me and my friends agreed the taste was like Indonesian's "Toge Goreng". Yup, the ramen soup tasted so similar like that.Now let's see the sushis that I tasted yesterday. By the way, as I said earlier, I used a dining voucher for all you can eat sushi which included refillable ocha and a scoop of ice cream for only Rp. 79.000. Anyway, I was really glad I used a voucher. You will know why through this next review.So for the all you can eat promo I get to try 20 different sushi menus which are divided to 4 phases consisted of a platter in every phase. Supposedly there are 5 different sushi menus in every plate, right?I just don't get it. An all you can eat, but they limit it to only 4 platters? WHAT???!?!Seriously, I would never believe if this restaurant make another all you can eat promo again.Anyway, this is my first platter. There are 5 different (or maybe the same? well, they all seemed to taste the same!) sushi menus in this plate. 2 are fusion rolls, and 3 are maki rolls.Well since I was given something pre-determined (and they called this an all you can eat), I wasn't aware and had no idea just what was the names of each sushi presented to me. So pardon me if I only mentioned some that I do know, and not all of them.Deep Fried Cheese Roll. Basically this is the same as the one my friend ordered. You can check by scrolling up. But for an all you can eat they only gave me 2 pieces! So disappointing!Kappa Maki (Rolled Kyuri). This one came in quite a small size (and I mean small like mini size). The fillings were cucumbers. Nothing special.Tekka Maki (Rolled Fresh Tuna) & Salmon Maki (Rolled Fresh Salmon). Disappointing. The fishes weren't fresh as they claimed to be and weren't that much incorporated either.My second platter also came in with 4 different sushi.Floss Salmon Roll. This one had chicken floss in its toppings with baked salmon in the filling. It tasted ok for me. Not disappointing, but not mind-blowing also.Yin Yang Roll. This is the sushi with black and white sesame seeds on its toppings. Tasted pretty decent also.Jumping Jack Flash. This one uses tuna, torched tuna and also ponzu sauce. The flavors were again too mild. They should have used bolder ponzu sauce.Crunchy Pizza Sushi. I don't know what's so special about this one. It's just nori with rice and crunchy tempura crumble on top and dressed with chilli sauce. The taste is no where near the taste of pizza.My third platter in my opinion only came with 3 different sushi menus (it came less and less in serving the sushi menus on the platter!! grr..!!!). The only one I recognized here might be the Baked Tuna Gunkan which tasted surprisingly pretty good. The tuna was still moist and tasted nice. I just hoped they would wrapped the nori much more better though.I had no idea just what sushis were in my fourth platter. But FYI, for me they all tasted the same. Do you know how they taste? They just tasted like mayonnaise. Yup, the over-excessive use of mayonnaise just made all of them tasted..well like mayonnaise. But had to salute them for not being so cheap on the use of mayonnaise.So for 4 platters, it took 2 and a half hours just for all of them to be served. Really slow service in a not-so crowded restaurant.The Ocha (refillable) barely tasted like tea. For my palate it just tasted like water. Really bland. And to have it refilled, I must wait for a waiter to (again) enter the indoor dining area.My friends ordered the Strawberry Yoghurt & Lychee Yoghurt - Rp. 15.000/each.Tasted pretty much like a renowned yoghurt drink. They weren't disappointing, but I really hoped they had more distinctive taste.Overall conclusion, well once is enough. The service was not pleasing for me and my friends. The foods weren't so special also. But maybe it's quite reasonable since you know as they say in Indonesian "ada harga, ada rasa". Actually the prices weren't quite affordable for my opinion since the sizes of the sushi are so darn small.So if ever you should come here, you must really tolerate the service and also the foods. This place might be suitable if you only want to have a light snack. It needs a lot of improvement IMHO because regarding the restaurant's concept of affordable sushi, I think it has a bright future ahead.I've had better sushi elsewhere, so to be back and have a dine here again..?? Sushi Miya8i TebetSushi Miya8i... Siapa sih yang gak tau? Pasti langsung 'ngeh' kan karena Miyabinya? Yep. Sushi Miya8i ini menggunakan nama yang cukup fenomenal pada saat baru berdiri, karena Miyabi adalah salah satu pemain film Dewasa dari Jepang.Tapi sejak pertama kali berdiri, gw belom pernah sekalipun mengunjungi Suhi Miya8i ini, padahal resto nya sudah tersebar di berbagai penjuru jakarta serta di Depok. Sampai akhirnya si Dandy @jazzydee ngajak gw untuk mencoba makan di Resto ini, tepatnya cabang Tebet. Well, I think it's not a bad idea right? But... Kok gw liat-liat reviewnya, kebanyakan memberikan nilai yang rendah ya? Apa benar nilai yang mereka berikan? So, Let's see from my review.Ketika datang, gw liat sih parkirannya cukup penuh, motor berjejer rapih. Tapi pas liat kedalam resto, kok Sepi? Ohiya, posisi resto ini cukup mudah ditemui karena berada di pusat keramaian tebet, yaitu Jl Tebet Barat, Disamping Diva Karaoke.Untuk tempat sebenarnya cukup cozy dan nyaman untuk kumpul-kumpul bersama teman atau keluarga. Untuk furniture juga rapih dan terkesan bersih, terdapat beberapa bingkai di tembok. Ohiya, untuk ruang makannya terbagi 3, Indoor ada 2 dan Outdoor. Kebetulan gw duduk di Bagian Outdoor yg interiornya dominan merah. Untuk buku menu, kok agak kotor ya?Well, setelah gw memesan menu kepada pegawainya, barulah gw tau kenapa review tentang Sushi Miya8i ini kurang baik. Kenapa? Pelayanannya lama! Padahal kita liat tuh restonya cukup sepi, paling hanya 5-6 meja yang terisi. Satu menu bisa datang 15-30menit kemudia. Dan juga kurang tanggap. Sodara gw Amir @akuadin sampe salah menu loh, untung diganti :pNah, Sekarang saatnya kita review makanan yang gw pesan! :DM2Q Okonomi (IDR 15K)Personally, Okonomiyaki ini enak. Rasanya pas, gak terlalu asin ataupun terlalu hambar. Kenyal ketika di mulut. Walaupun sebenernya ini jauh dari Authentic Okonomiyaki, karena biasanya okonomiyaki isinya lumayan banyak sayuran sedangkan M2Q Okonomi ini minim isiannya, hanya wortel. Tapi enak menurut gw :DDeep Fried Cheese (IDR 20K)First of all, Sebenernya gw bukan pencinta Sushi, atau spesifiknya Ikan dan timun(diolah seperti acar) yang biasanya ada di dalam Sushi. Tapi kali ini entah kenapa gw lagi bener-bener ngidam Sushi hahaNah Deep Fried Cheese ini sebenarnya cukup simple, hanya berisi nori dengan topping tobiko. Tapi yang bikin enak selain disajikan selagi hangat yaitu crunchy. Yummm :9 Untuk isi dari sushi nya sih biasa aja, gak ada rasa yang bisa dibilang 'spesial'Itu dua menu yang gw pesan, sekarang gw mau review makanan yang dipesan oleh @akuadin dan @jazzydee yang sempat gw coba.Kuro Ramen (IDR 35K)Ini adalah menu pesanan @akuadin, pertama kali datang ternyata salah, yang diberikan Malah Shio Ramen, dan akhirnya baru datang penggantinya beberapa puluh menit kemudian.. *disappointedKuro Ramen, diambil dari Kuro yang artinya Hitam dalam bahasa jepang. Dan memang warna ramen ini Hitam karena toppingnya diberikan daging cincang berwarna hitam dan kuahnya cukup kental. Untuk rasa, I think it's lack of salt. Dan yang mengecewakan adalah Sushi Miya8i tidak menyediakan garam, In case customer menemukan kasus seperti ini (kurang asin). Jadi sebenarnya rasa Kuro Ramen ini lumayan enak, hanya kurang garam :pUntuk makanan @jazzydee gw kurang paham dengan nama-namanya, Karena dia menggunakan paket All you can eat dan sudah diberikan paketan sushi (Wew... Ini sebenernya bukan all you can eat loh! Masa All you can eat udah dijatah sih.) Tapi dari beberapa sushi yang gw coba sih mungkin hanya 1 komentar, yaitu Tasteless, not in a really bad meaning tho. Cuma rasanya kurang kaya, so there's nothing special to talk about the sushi in this restaurant.Nah untuk minuman gw memesan Strawberry Yoghurt (IDR 15K)Yoghurtnya enak, sepertinya sih ini yoghurt kemasan yang sudah cukup terkenal beredar. Gak terlalu Asam, dan manisnya pun pas. Seperti itulah pengalaman pertama gw ke Sushi Miya8i. Kalau dibilang Worth it, yes it might be! Karena menurut gw harga yang ditawarkan cukup reasonable untuk Menu Sushi. But sometimes, Harga juga menentukan! :)
